So what’s all the commotion concerning Artisanal bread, cheese, ice cream, honey, jam, salsa and sweets? Hand crafted foods are gaining popularity for many reasons, one being that they have been integrated into the slow and local food movements. They tend to be made in small batches and use traditional recipes. Artisanal foods are also thought to be healthier as they contain natural and unprocessed ingredients.
That said, there are some very creative food artists out there making things like Goat Cheese Ice Cream, Dragon’s Breath Blue Cheese, GuS (which stands for Grown Up Soda), and Dark Chocolate with Pomegranate or Chipotle Pepper.
